Crystal Palace have confirmed Pape Souare has had a successful operation on his dislocated shoulder but will be out for two months. Souare suffered the injury in the narrow FA Cup win over Grimsby Town on Saturday and the news is positive after going under the knife.
In a short statement on the club’s website, the Eagles said: “The plan is for him to return to training in around two months’ time.”
Souare, who was making just his fourth appearance of the season against the Mariners, has also posted on Twitter to update fans.
He said: “Quick minor op, and it went great can’t wait to get back doing what I love I wanna thank everyone for their ongoing support. See you soon.”
The 28-year-old is now set to miss a significant chunk of action but assuming he doesn’t suffer any setback he could be back in contention for the Premier League clash at Tottenham on March 16.
