Miguel Britos believes teenage defender Ben Wilmot “has a big future” after playing alongside him in the FA Cup win over Woking. Britos and 19-year-old Wilmot lined up in an unfamiliar centre-back pairing in the 2-0 victory on Sunday, with the more experienced Uruguayan helping the youngster through the tie.
Britos was impressed with what he saw from the teenager and believes he has a bright future.
He said: “It was a nice experience, he’s very young. He did very well and has a big future ahead. I’m happy for him and he will have some chances soon.”
Wilmot, who joined from League Two outfit Stevenage in the summer, was making his fourth senior appearance of the season against Woking after coming on once as a sub in the Premier League and featuring for the full 90 minutes twice in the EFL Cup.
