“He has been excellent. He hasn’t played a huge amount of minutes since he came back from the AFCON but he has been excellent,” the gaffer told the club’s official website.

“It was a huge amount of minutes for him in the last few games. Joe is a top player. It took him a while when he got back because he hadn’t played for three or four weeks at AFCON.

” He had a brilliant tournament with some fantastic experiences, but he came back and took a while to get back up to speed.”

Aribo has scored three goals in 31 league games for Southampton this season.

They have started hyping this mediocre player again. Championship is his level, he should concentrate on his career at the club.

Hahaha Golden Child, based on what we’ve seen of Aribo in the SE, I have to concur with you.
He may yet improve and become needed in the SE in the future. If he improves, he will always be welcome back.

We are way too sentimental in Nigeria. This was how they were singing his praises when he was in Rangers but his level is not at SE level. Scottish, Belgian and Dutch leagues are below par and substandard to the top 5 leagues in the world. Onuachu was scoring goals for fun in Belgium but when he came to the EPl , I am not sure he scored a single goal. Same thing with Dessers in Scottish league but when he plays for the SE he is average at best.

If we are going to build a formidable team, it would not be by building castles in the sky but through Pragmatism. Will Aribo make the USA 94 squad ? Yet we all long for the days when our football was at the pinnacle, when we rose to be the 5th best ranked team in the world.if he goes to a top 5 league and he is seriously balling, then we can entertain the thought of him returning to the SE , otherwise it is a false dawn and nothing else.

He is doing really well at his club and no doubt his new confidence will come good for Nigeria. He deserves the enconiums for his new form.
Ndidi, Iheanacho, Jamilu are also playing in the Championship. Besides, Iheanacho is a permanent bench warmer in a championship club.

Aribo is a good player. He did well in the cup of nations. We have to support our players.

  • Larry. Even if iheanacho is on the bench, Aribo can not be compared to him. If olubadan is wearing nicker he is far superior to many kings. Really Aribo is below average. His performance in super eagles is so terrible despite having many chances. I wish him well. Can you even see this report from CS. Funny report. The coach said he has not been up to speed since he returned from afcon. Why that. He never did anything at afcon. Why is he not giving his best at his club and in the championship. He is not a super eagles player. I hope he improves but I doubt. All the best to him
