Southampton manager Russell Martins hopes Paul Onuachu won’t be sidelined for a long spell after the striker sustained an injury in the club’s 3-2 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
Onuachu made his first start of the season for the Saints in the encounter.
The Nigeria international was however replaced by Lesley Ugochukwu on 52 minutes after sustaining an injury.

Martins praised the tall striker for his impressive performance in the game.
The gaffer is also hopeful the injury is nothing too serious.
“Paul probably deserved to start before now, the way he’s trained – he’s been so good. He was really good so I hope his injury is nothing too serious. It’s just a bit of fatigue but I thought he played really, really well,”Martin said after the game.
The 30-year-old has made six league appearances for the Saints this season.
