Southampton are showing interest in Benfica’s 27-goal hitman Haris Seferovic, according to reports in Portugal. Portuguese newspaper A Bola says Everton are also keen on the Swiss international, who won the league with Benfica on Saturday.
Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl will certainly target a new forward this summer and, with Charlie Austin reportedly set to leave St Mary’s, it’s no secret Southampton need more goals from their frontmen. Seferovic scored 23 of his 27 goals in the Portuguese top-flight and none of them were penalties.
He spent three years in the Bundesliga at Eintracht Frankfurt during the time that Hasenhuttl was in charge at RB Leipzig, so the Austrian boss should know plenty about him.
