Southampton Set To Move For Standard Star

Southampton are reportedly set to swoop for highly-rated Standard Liege midfielder Moussa Djenepo. With Premier League survival having already been assured, the Saints are now planning for the summer, where boss Ralph Hasenhuttl will be looking to stamp his authority on the club following his arrival in December.

The Austrian used the January transfer window to trim down his squad, but he now looks set to splash the cash, with a move for Mali international Djenepo seemingly on the cards.

The 20-year-old has been a regular for Standard this season, scoring 11 goals in 37 appearances and it appears the Belgian club would be willing to listen to offers of around £20million.

Southampton boss Hasenhuttl has already revealed that he is not looking to bring in big names this summer as he wants to sign players that are developing, even if that means they will only be at St Mary’s Stadium for a short period. Djenepo could potentially fall into that category following what has been a breakthrough season for the youngster at club level.
