    Keep the fire burning Sadiq!

Plenty goals to come thereafter for both country and your temporary club (Almeria)

Of course, this is the best way to put your name in the soon to be released squad list!

  • Anthony 3 years ago

@Abdul handsy hahaha no be small temporary club, offcourse by the end of this season i expect top european clubs like barca, sevilla, and the likes of madrid to battle for the signature of this awesome nigerian striker (umar sadiq). I am so proud of you sadiq, and nigerians loves you so much.

And i see no reason why you should’nt be invited for the upcoming afcon qaulifiers against benin & lesotho respectively.

Seriouly if your name is not on that list, am afraid to say this, there is something really wrong with gernot rohr when it comes to national team selection.

If truly his selection is based on merit and not being too sentimental, then he has no reason not to invite you to the national team, considering the fact that our top striker is battling with various degrees of injuries these season.

Well lets wait and see the outcome of the list when its officially out by next week.

  • Well done. Keep it up.

Yea I love that, let’s up the tempo for the National team set-up as they get set to release the list for the upcoming qualifying games. Our input may however count in making the marginal difference for the National team selectors though.God Bless Everyone with Nigeria and the Super Eagles at heart.

I’ve always said it and I’ll repeat it and mark my words. The 1st match this lad will play for the SE will be the end of invitation to the SE for some people. Make dem sidon dia dey wait for Finidi to come out of retirement b4 dem score goals.
Speed, balance, skill, technique, hold up play, quick feet, eye-for-goals…this lad has got it all, despite being almost 2 metres tall. Umar has show time and again that his level is way beyond the Spanish 2nd division. It still pains me he didnt make that move to Lille last summer. The boy will light up ANY league he plays in
Its only a matter of time for this boy….only a matter of time. And when that time comes….even osimhen will sweat to start games for the SE.
    Ride on Sadiq….!!!

Heavenly father ! Is it Drey I am seeing here!!!!! I thought we banished you to oblivion. You somehow escaped. Now I tell you. Begone from here you speaker of lies. You user of multiple identities. You creator of chaos. Begone never to return to CSN……

      • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

Are you done….?? Erano. Now crawl back to your cage..!

  • I just watched the highlights of the game. Sadiq is definitely the man of the match for me. He had a hand in 3 of the 4 goals.
I think he is beginning to possess that fear factor among defenders, when he runs at them they seem to back off him not knowing what to expect from him.
His was lucky the ball fell kindly to him after he missed his initial penalty kick for the first goal.
All in all the guy is a good player to have leading an attack.
I Look forward to seeing him score more and create more goals before the end of the season.

Guys don’t forget that Simmy was also scoring for fun in Seria B last season but how market for him in Seria A this season? Same goes for Sadiq in Segunda vs La Liga. Sadiq still need a lot more to do before he can displace Osimhen. Stop overhyping him just yet please.

    • JimmyBall 3 years ago

@Dr.Banks… Competition is allowed. Osimhen needs time to comeback refreshed and mentally cool after all the travails of injury, illness and negative media from the party he pertook in with careless regard for covid rules… Surely, we know what he is capable of, but otherwise have to be given a chance in his absence. Sadiq has done alright and for some of us, the level of Segunda Liga in Spain is not too bad for someone who aspires to play for Super Eagles based on his performance… If Ekong, Umeruo will get a chance, why not Sadiq?

@Dr Banks Simy is still scoring the goals 7goals and 2 assist in Seria A. He is currently the 2nd highest Nigerian goal scorer this season from the Top 5 leagues. Moffi is the highest with 8 goals.

Nobody is talking of him because his club remains glued to the bottom of the table. And not his fault but clearly because of their defensive woes, having conceded 10 goals more than any team in seria A. I wonder why crotone could not buy good defenders during the transfer window.

So Simy has proven himself, but needs to find a more serious club to remain in the top flight.

For Super Eagles the competition is very tight and nobody is over hyping anybody. I think Sadiq deserves to be called up.

Honestly it’s not about the goals, sadiq is a very good player, we have known him via Olympic he came in from Italy and outclassed the likes of awoniyi, osihmen, ajayi of all ahli and umar if the Turkish league. He placed all of them in bench and even some where sent packing. Siasia knew immediately that sadiq was the man and he was used through out the competition as he continue delivering. If not for club issue sadiq was surpose to be in 2018 wcup. He is far better than unuachu maja simone and awoniyi, i will not be surprised if he comes in and seal the first team shirt. for Rohr to reduce his headache he should invite only three strikers osihmen sadiq and moffi for the now the rest are simply not needed
Iheanacho though can also be considered as a midfielder is another fourth option.

    • Dr Banks 3 years ago

@JimmyBall, @Collins id……… I quite share your opinion and I believe GR should find a space for him in the next invitation. My fear is just that our able coach might find it difficult to drop Onoachu whom am really not convinced with. For now my choice of Strikers for March will be same as @Collins id, hope GR will do the needful. Osimhen needs the game to regain his confidence so should not be dropped unless if injured again which I pray not

      • @Dr Bank.

U said Rohr should drop ONUACHU?

If his advocates (@omo9ja & his bathalion) catch u, your own don finish….
        I no dey there oooo…..

        • Omo9ja 3 years ago

@UBFE, if that would be the only solution to the problem then, the coach should go ahead.

We have others strikers now. We have Sodiq Umar, a fantastic striker. We also have Maja, Adi, Simmy to say the least kę.

I know that Onuachu is not the problem of the Super Eagles but Oga Rohr and his crew. That is the “koko”, the “truth” of the matter.

If to left out Onuachu on the list would solved the problem of the coaches then, they should make the move but in the end, no excuses bla bla bla ooo.

It’s not about Onuachu, omo9ja and the patriotic Nigerians but it is all about Nigeria because Nigeria is bigger than every one of us period. No more no less. We need positive results from now on. Shekena. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

          • Omo9ja 3 years ago

Sorry for my typos kę. This is not a joking matter kę. Komadę yemikę. Oh well. God bless Nigeria!!!

  • I dont see how someone will say we are overhyping sadiq, when the young man has proved himself by scoring goals in every club he has played for (except rangers where he wasn’t given game time by the coach). The only national assignment he participated in (the Olympics) he was the highest goal scorer. And now he is scoring goals aplenty in his current club. And someone is comparing him to crotones simy nwankwo who is currently his clubs highest goal scorer, the problem with crotone isnt simy but the club management who didn’t spend enough money bringing in some quality players to beef up the team. Simy is still scoring goals for crotone so why compare him with sadiq umar as if simy isnt doing well for himself.
Sadiq is not an overhyped player and I believe if given a chance in the Super Eagles team he will exceed all our expectations.
But knowing the kind of coach we have in the Super Eagles,I dont see coach Rohr inviting sadiq for the march games instead he will stick to his normal players of musa, victor osimhen (unless Victor asks him to leave him out of the team), chukwueze etc
He may include moffi but he will most likely call on onuachu. These are his go to guys and it will take something drastic to make him drop any of them from his list.

why must a coach drop a tested player for an untested one especially for a competitive match…..it does not accord with wisdom,no sane person takes such a big risk.Although i support the idea of inviting sadiq but i will not advise the coach to just thrust him there straightaway,he has better strikers at his disposal……ademola lookman is not yet available because of fifa delay
