Spurs forward Son Heung-min believes his side “deserve” to win a trophy and is targeting a successful season. Tottenham missed out on the Champions League title last season after finishing as the runners-up behind Liverpool, while their Premier League bid faded in the second half of the campaign after they had broken into the top two on Boxing Day.
Son is convinced Spurs have the quality to claim a first trophy since the League Cup in the 2007-08 season, and he feels they can improve on last year’s showing in the coming campaign. “Winning a trophy has always been tough, for example, we are playing in the Premier league to win the title with 20 teams, it’s never been easy,” he said in a video published by BT Sport.

“Of course we are trying to win something but we can’t promise and because of that we are working hard. “I think we deserve more than any other players because of how we work, when I see the players and how they work and how they’ve been professional, it’s been just amazing and I’m so proud of this team.
“But until now we don’t have anything and it’s always been tough but you’re looking forward to any success.” He added: “We are looking forward to this season and I’m sure we can do better than last season.”
