Stuttgart head coach Markus Weinzierl says his players must take the positives out of the 3-1 defeat against Borussia Dortmund.
VfB are battling for survival in the Bundesliga and the defeat at the weekend leaves three points away from safety, with games fast running out.
Next up is Hoffenheim on Saturday and Weinzierl wants to see the same kind of attitude that was on show against Dortmund.
“We showed all the qualities you need in a relegation battle, so we’re looking to take that forward,” said Weinzierl. Meanwhile, influential defender Marc Oliver Kempf was similarly optimistic and believes Stuttgart have what it takes to pull themselves out of trouble.
“We put in a decent performance and gave it everything from the get-go,” he added. “We defended well and worked hard as a team.
“It wasn’t enough for a point in the end but we did our best and I think we can take the positives from the performance into next week’s match.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
