Success Plays As Sub In Watford Draw; Balogun Benched

Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun was an unused substitute in Brighton’s 1-0 loss away to Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday reports Completesports.com.

Balogun is yet to make an appearance for the Seagulls in the Premier League in 2019.
Of the 29 attempt on goal,
Christian Eriksen’s stunning late winner ended Brighton’s resistance to boost Tottenham’s hopes of a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Brighton, without a goal in seven matches, were restricted to counter attacks and set pieces, with the impressive central defensive pairing of Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy both heading off target.

Third-placed Tottenham are now three points ahead of Chelsea and four clear of Arsenal in fifth, although the Gunners have a game in hand.

Brighton – who have to play both Arsenal and title-chasing Manchester City – remain 17th, three points clear of third-bottom Cardiff with three matches of the season remaining.

Tottenham take on West Ham in the early game on Saturday, before Brighton play at home against Newcastle later on the same day in the evening.
In the other league game, Isaac Success came on for Mark Hughes in the 77th minute for Watford who played a 1-1 draw with Southampton.
The game was his 28th Premier League appearance of the season.
