Dutch coach Simon Kalika has exclusively told Completesports.com that he harbours no fears that the Super Eagles will overcome Zimbabwe in tonight’s Unity Cup 2026 tournament semi-final clash at the Valley Stadium, Charlton.
The Eagles will face The Warriors of Zimbabwe in the opening fixture of the 2026 Unity Cup Tournament billed for the Charlton Athletic Club Stadium tonight.
Super Eagles Favoured Unity Cup 2026 Zimbabwe
Kalika, who assisted Samson Siasia during the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup finals in the Netherlands and the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China, posited that Eric Chelle’s team have all the needed credentials to crush the East Africans, Zimbabwe.
“It’s a bit dicey because there are no small teams in football anymore,” Kalika began.

“But I think the Super Eagles have a big chance to win. They have big players — (Victor) Osimhen, (Ademola) Lookman, and other players doing very well in Europe.
Kalika Highlights Tactical Balance, Squad Quality
“We should ask how many goals the Super Eagles will score if the team gets good organisation and tactical balance.
“Nigeria is far better than Zimbabwe in football and that should come into the game today.
Opening Fixture Could Shape Tournament Journey
“This is the opening match and very important, but always difficult. A Super Eagles win is important for how far they will go in the tournament,” Kalika said.
The winner between the defending Champions Nigeria and Zimbabwe will clash with either Jamaica or India in the Unity Cup 2026 final at Valley on Saturday, 30 May, 2026.
Nigeria won the 2025 edition of Unity Cup after pipping the Black Stars of Ghana 2–1 in the semi-final and edging out Jamaica 5–4 on penalties in the final following a 2–2 scoreline in regulation time. It staged at the Brentford Community Stadium, London.
