Atlético Madrid has issued a fierce response to FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, declaring that there is a 0% chance of selling Julián Álvarez to their La Liga rivals.

Atlético fired back through MARCA, stating that the club, not the player, is the true victim of a coordinated media campaign filled with lies and half-truths.
Despite the player’s reported desire to leave, Atlético remains completely defiant and unwilling to negotiate with Barcelona ahead of the transfer deadline.
“The player is being victimized, but the only victim of the Julian case is us,” a club statement added.
“They have harmed us economically and socially. There is 0% chance of selling him to Barca. This situation is not about money, it’s about dignity.
“There’s a campaign with many lies and half-truths. The only one who pays for this is Atletico.”

Alvarez has informed Atletico of his desire to leave the club, amid interest from Barcelona. Atletico have insisted the forward is not for sale at any price to their La Liga rivals.
Arsenal are also interested in Alvarez and are prepared to make their move for the 26-year-old if he expresses interest in a potential Premier League transfer.
