This Has Been A Frustrating Season For Me Chelsea Midfielder Admits

Chelsea summer signing Romeo Lavia has vowed to bounce back next season after he was ruled out for the remainder of the campaign through injury.

Lavia has been plagued with a string of issues since joining Chelsea from Southampton in a £60million deal last summer.

The 20-year-old has been restricted to just one substitute appearance for the Blues.

Chelsea had hoped Lavia would be able to return to training this month, potentially giving him a slim chance to force his way into Belgium’s squad for the Euros.

But, on Wednesday afternoon, the club confirmed that a fresh setback had brought Lavia’s season to a premature end.

Reacting to the sad news Lavia, writing on Instagram posted on Chelsea’s X handle, promised to keep working hard to return to full fitness and make an impact next season and beyond.

“Hi Chelsea family, as you may know, and despite my countless efforts, I will be missing the remainder of the season.

“This has been a frustrating season for me, not being able to help my team-mates.

“I love this squad, this badge and being on the pitch more than anything.

“Trust that I have given my all every day to get back.

“Thank you for the love, support and critics because they all affect me positively and keep me going.

“I can’t wait to give it back and share many special moments together. See you soon.”

Lavia’s only appearance for Chelsea was against Crystal Palace as a substitute on December 27.

But he picked up an injury in the very same match and has not played again since.
