Tigers Close In On Blake Appointment

Leicester Tigers are close to re-hiring Phil Blake as the club’s new defence coach. Blake, 55, joined Leicester as defence coach in 2014 but left in 2015 shortly before a six-month ban from rugby.
Head coach Geordan Murphy indicated the deal is all but complete and he is looking forward to working alongside Blake.
He told the BBC: “We’ve been looking for a defence coach. “Now Phil’s come around and we’re just sorting out the final nuts and bolts of that. “It’s nice to have him in the country and, when we’re ready to announce it, we will.”
He added: “We know him pretty well, we’re pretty comfortable with him. Someone like Phil can add a bit of attitude to our defence.”
