AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has said that he will keep working hard to get into the England squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Tomori was benched during England’s UEFA Nations League 1-0 defeat to Italy and he didn’t even make the matchday squad for the 3-3 draw with Germany.
Tomori admitted that he would need to work on some aspects of his game to make the England squad to Qatar.
“Hopefully I can continue improving,” express.co.uk quoted Tomori as saying.
“There’s a lot of games now and then to hopefully get in the squad and get some minutes.
“It’s different in the England squad because when we have time together it’s very limited.

“In Milan the manager wants me to be in a certain position or to do certain things that I need to remember to do on the pitch and I need to work off it to try and make myself a better player.
“When I spoke to Gareth he agreed, so I have to keep trying to improve those aspects.”
Tomori has been capped three times by England. He has made eight appearances in the Serie A this season.
England are in Group B with Wales, Iran and the United States of America.
The Three Lions have won the FIFA World Cup once in 1966 on home soil.

Imagine a regular with Italian Serial Champions not sure of making ENGLAND’s WC squad. Meanwhile, a slower and mid table player CONOR COADY is a SURE BANKER whilst the likes of TYRON MINGS, GUEHI and BEN WHITE of Arsenal are higher in the pecking order.
Had things being different, am sure with a TOMORI marshalling our CB, we too would’ve been preparing for the QATAR Party by now
Not even sure Tammy Abraham makes the team as well. This is still not a good lesson to learn by some others who are still qualified to wear Naija colours but they’ll rather wait it out with countries of their birth. Meanwhile, our league back home is so bad that home players can not even qualify for CHAN. We really need to rejig center half and the midfield positions and make those positions more competitive. To me, Bassey is a better fit at the LB.
