Agaoglu is hopeful players at the club can gain from Mikel’s wealth of experience.

“It is unnecessary to talk about John Mikel Obi’s career. We are not just talking about a footballer with good work ethics, but a great athlete,” Agaoglu told Trabzonspor’s official website.

“Everyone knows how much we invest in young players. In addition, we have recruited a player who can share his experiences with our young players. Bringing Mikel here wasn’t easy for us. He knows that as well. ”

Mikel will hope to make his debut for his new club when they take on Czech club, Sparta Prague away in a Europa League Third Qualifying Round fixture on Thursday.
