Turkish Club Trabzonspor Interested In Omeruo

Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo is a subject of interest from Turkish club Trabzonspor, reports Completesports.com.

Omeruo is expected to leave Spanish club Leganes this summer following the Cucumber Growers relegation to the Segunda Division.

The versatile defender only joined Leganes on a permanent deal from Premier League club Chelsea last summer after impressing on loan in the previous campaign.

He scored once in 23 league appearances for Leganes in the 2019/20 season.

Leganes , according to reports in Turkey , are not willing to accept less than the €5m they paid Chelsea for Omeruo.

Trabzonspor finished in second position in the Turkish Super Lig last season but won the FA Cup title.

They are looking to bring in new players to improve the squad ahead of the new campaign.

Good but stay in La Liga with Levante.

This guy needs to work on his timing, pace, and be more tactical like Balogun I’m dealing with long balls.he can still learn  one or  two things from Balogun. Balogun is not just our best defender for now is our most technical  player for now.

  • I said it here earlier, Leganes relegation can be partially blame on his fitness and form, he hardly feature in 3consecutive games throughout the season, for now I would prefer balogun and Ajayi combo for the eagles back line ,they both not only tall but tactically sound.

      What about ekong

… If you played football you will know Ekong is not as smooth as Ajayi or Balogun, he is rather brawlish and not too vigilant often in the trail of attackers… I will always pick Balogun when fit as first choice in central defence.

    • @Femi, Legenes relegation was mostly due to their not scoring goals. They sold their top goal scorer and when the transfer window in January closed, Barcelona took their main striker Braithwaite. Leganes were not allowed to recruit to replace him.

Leganes had the 9th most goals against in the league (that is mid table form), their defense was not the worst in the league, far from it. The attack on the otherhand had the second lowest goals scored in the league, only Espanyol who were bottom of the league scored less goals than Leganes.

Omeruo was adjudged to have the third highest percentage of tackles won of all players in the league (official La Liga stats). He played in 22 out of 29 games he was eligible to. Missed one on a card suspension, on the bench for 6 games and injured for 3. He also between December and June only missed 3 games, one for the suspension and twice on the bench, thats 14 matches of the 22 that he featured in in the league

We should not rubbish our players because of sentiments, let us also look at the positives, a balanced view.
