U-20 WWCQ: Falconets Hold Cameroon To 0-0 Draw Away In First Leg

The Falconets of Nigeria held Cameroon to a goalless draw, in the third round first leg, of the 2022 U-20 women’s World Cup qualifier in Douala on Saturday.

The Nigerian team created couple of chances in the first half but could not break the defense line of the Cameroonians.

It was the same story in the second half as both teams eventually settled for a goalless.

I want to reiterate here and now that Africa must stop playing politics with world cup qualifications in Africa. How can u pair Ghana, Cameroon , South Africa and Nigiria to face and eliminate each other in the qualifiers just because u wana encourage other zones in Africa to qualify for the world cup. South America does not do this. Their good team’s are seeded and don’t don’t cross paths. Europe don’t do this. The best teams don’t cross path to ensure the continent is represented by teams that will make them proud and even Cos FIFA to increase their slot. So Why will CAF continue to sacrifice good representation on the alter of favorirism. How can Africa get more slots if we continue to present weak team’s just to encourage them. The world cup is meant for the best not for learners. CAF must learn this and learn it fast.

South America play a marathon games of 18matches head-to-head… I feel Africa should adopt qualifications series where 10teams will emerge and go at each other in a head-to-head round-robin. It will not only toughen African sides but will make them have solid preparations over 2-3years period the entire series will last… It will keep national teams engaged and ensure the very best come out of Africa…

Same thing caf did in the male u17 and 21 FIFA world cup and it’s really affecting Africa performance in the tournament. Imagine the two u17 and u21 Africa power Horse Nigeria and Ghana facing each other in zone B west Africa paring there by allowing only one of them to advance . My opinion this pattern of qualifications is killing Africa performance in the junior FIFA world cup.since this new caf president introduce this qualifying pattern to favour some part of Africa, Africa has not won any age FIFA grade tournament .Politice should not be involved in sports.

Fantastic thoughts. We have to ask for our rights like the rest of the world. We are cutting each other up to satisfy the West.

He he he, the Cameroonian captain looks like Vincent Abubakar with her baco bag legs.

    • She carry weight well and she’s under 20

That’s a disadvantage to them if they used overaged player/s, older women cannot run.

  • My brother, that was what caught my attention.Haba, how can you tell me,that Cameroonian captain is under 20? Hehehe! I hope them dey do MRI test for the female age grade teams too.Because this picture now dey confuse me.Her balance for ground alone, is enough to disqualify her.I just dey talk my own,Hmmmmmm
