Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has penned an emotional tribute to the late NFF board member and Enugu State Football Association Chairman, Hon. Chidi Offor-Okenwa (pictured above) who passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020.
Ubah, Who is also a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and President, FC Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club, a Nigeria Professional Football League side, described Offor-Okenwa as a ‘brother’, a great ‘Nigerian Patriot’, a ‘seasoned administrator and gentleman’ whose life ‘inspired so many’.
The chairman of Anambra State Football Association and member, Senate Committee on Sports admits he is extremely ‘devastated’ on hearing the news of the death of Offor-Okenwa.
“Ever since I received news of Hon. Chidi Offor-Okenwa’s passing, I have been dumbfounded, greatly devastated,” Ubah said in the tribute Completesports.com.
“And I merely managed to muster enough breath this evening to put together a glowing tribute to my brother and friend who was a great Nigerian patriot, seasoned administrator and gentleman whose life inspired so many.
“This is a sad loss, not only for his immediate family, but for the Enugu State Football Association, Nigeria National League (NNL), and the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
“On behalf of the Anambra State Football Association, FC Ifeanyi Ubah and the entire Anambra State football family, I wish to convey my sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the family of the deceased, his friends, associates, Enugu F.A and the entire Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.”

The FC Ifeanyi Ubah financier recalls some salient legacies of the departed Enugu FA boss for which he would be sorely missed.
“Hon. Chidi Offor will always be remembered as a great contributor who made an extraordinary positive impact on football development and administration in Nigeria.
“As we mourn his demise today, we will continue to remember him in our hearts and in our works as we pay tribute to his legacies which will continue to live on,” the Capital Oil and Gas Chairman said.
“I pray the good Lord to grant the soul of the deceased repose, just as we seek divine help and grace for his family to bear this irreplaceable loss with fortitude.”
