Ubah Shines For Nigeria Police, Wins Gold At AMCAN Int’l Judo Challenge New York

Raphael Ubah, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) has lifted Nigeria’s global image in the USA where he won a gold medal at the USA/Canada (AMCAN) International Judo Challenge in New York, Completesports.com reports.

Ubah defeated Simon Childs of Great Britain In the final of the 75kg category at the championships.

He previously won bronze medal at the last World Police Games held in USA.

He is the current Sports Officer of the Imo State Police Command.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Bartholomew Onyeka, broke the good news of Ubah’s achievement while briefing the State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo, in Owerri.

“He has in no small way helped in projecting the image of the Nigeria Police Force to the World,” DCP Onyeka said while officially briefing the Commissioner of Police, Ladodo, of Ubah’s latest feat.

“Ubah has also helped in reviving sports within the Imo State Police Command,” he added.

With the feat in New York, Ubah has kept alive his hopes of featuring at the All Africa Police Games slated for Morocco in September, as well as in the World Police Games billed for China in August this year.
