Former Italy coach Arrigo Sacchi has suggested that AC Milan and Napoli are not in form as they prepare for their UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg clash on Tuesday, April 18 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
AC Milan defeated Napoli 1-0 in the first leg on Wednesday, April 12 at the San Siro Stadium.
Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sacchi labelled the game unpredictable.
“It’s a very difficult game to predict and I expect a very open game,” Sacchi said
“Napoli’s players look like they have lost some of the sharpness they had a few months ago, but the same is true of Milan. The worst thing the Rossoneri could do is sit back and protect their lead.
“They need to express their identity especially in a Champions League quarter-final.”
Sacchi coached Milan between 1987 and 1991, he also had another stint as the club’s coach between 1996 and 1997.
AC Milan have won the Champions League seven times while Napoli have never won the Champions League trophy.
The Rossoneri are currently fourth in the Serie A standings with 53 points from 30 games while the Partenopei are first with 75 points from the same number of matches.
