Udeze: Ighalo’s Continued Lack Of Playing Time At United Now An Insult

Former Nigeria international Ifeanyi Udeze says Odion Ighalo’s continued lack of opportunities at Manchester United is now an insult.

Ighalo was once again overlooked when United hosted his former club Watford in Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie.

In his pre-match press conference on Friday, Ole Gunner Solskjaer had disclosed Ighalo will be involved in the game against the Hornets.

But the former Super Eagles striker was an unused substitute in the game which United won 1-0.

His last appearance for United was on December 2nd when he came on as a second half substitute in the 3-1 home loss to PSG.

“I think Ighalo’s situation at Manchester United is now an insult,” Udeze said on Brila FM on Monday.

“That he could not even still play in the FA Cup shows the amount of insult he is being subjected to at the club.

“This is someone who doesn’t get to play in the Premier League and now he cannot even play in the Cup game after the coach said he will be involved.

“For me I believe Ighalo is still a very good player who can contribute a lot to United so he shouldn’t allow what is happening now affect him. Thank God we are in January now so he should review his situation at United and make a decision.”

He is living his childhood dream….but gradually killing a career already in its twilight. The handwriting was already on the wall during the summer transfer window….the reluctance in extending the deal after such a virtuoso performance was the deal breaker for me…but he still went ahead and worst still took a pay cut. He is an adult and is responsible for his own actions and decisions…. Pls let the man be.

When Cavani was signed, I knew it was game over for Ighalo at United. Even if it was a substitute role he should have been given in the game against Watford.
How can he get better and score More goals for the team when he doesn’t even play? Thank goodness it’s January when his loan deal expires and he’s expected to return back to China.

All that glitters they say isn’t gold.
