I want to seize this opportunity to revisit my proposal early this year that only players who play regularly in the champions, Europa and conference leagues like Peter olayinka et al should form the core of the SE because they have the tenacity and experience to play high intensity games similar to what international football matches require. I believe if SE adopts this policy the glory days are likely to return. The policy of focusing more on players playing in top five leagues as not worked for us. We saw how Moses Simon threw away a one on one chance that will have taken SE straight to the world cup. Even in Abuja he was caged and u can’t blame him cos he is not use to playing high intensity games with high expectations which the The champions or Europa/Europa leagues offer..Lets change our style oF selection before we start expecting something new otherwise it’s a merry go round.
You are so right. We need to look at player in Uefa competitions.
@Four Four two, you know you are so right? Which means Olayinka should replace Simon in the national team, Yira Sor should replace Iheanacho/Lookman and David Amaoo should replace Iwobi since they are all featuring in European competitions, and others are only playing in top five leagues. Thank you very much. May be at this point, we should all leave Paseiro alone to do his job.
Olayinka was a hit in Belgium!
@sean, sounding satirical in response to my comment make me change my stand. Yes, Olayinka can replace Simon with good results. At the last AFCON it took him only 10mins of coming in to create two good goal bounded passes that Umar failed to convert. All sane fans saw his impact on that game. All the time moses was in that game what did we achieve..The logic is simple. You cannot give what u do not have. Any player not playing uefa lacks something which popS up in big games.
Nope u are wrong.do u know d high intensity it takes to play in the top leagues.and who says if someone like olanyinka plays in france he will perform. Same olayinka who struggled in gent were simon was king
Nice game by Chuks. Seems to be getting back to his old self, running at defenders and causing panic in the opponent’s vital area. The Hadjuk Split defenders had to double and even triple team the guy to keep him at bay.
Interestingly, Awaziem was deployed as a DM in the first leg which Villareal won 4-2. Reverted back to his usual center back position in this game, and put in a decent shift.
Well said Brodaman. Chukwueze Wazza Dazzer is a great winger. He will be fantastic in the Europa Conference League this season. Heaven bless Chukwueze and all deserving Super Eagles players
The way Moses Usor took his goal impressed me. Well taken left foot strike.
The Olayinka assist was a nice cross, just begging for a connection, the type of cross a striker would relish.
Right again brotherman. Usor took his goal like a professional. Heaven bless Usor and all aspiring Super Eagles players.
