Following Sean Strickland’s split-decision victory over Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 328 on Sunday, former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has disclosed that Russian-Emirati professional mixed martial artist and freestyle wrestler may be less invincible in subsequent bouts.
Before the fight, Usman predicted on his podcast with Henry Cejudo that Strickland’s tricky defensive style and inability to be easily hit could pose problems for Chimaev, although he still favoured Chimaev’s ability to impose his will.
However, Strickland won the fight 48–47, 47–48, 48–47, ending Chimaev’s undefeated streak to become the new middleweight champion

Reacting after the bout, Usman stated that Chimaev’s style may be less immune to future rivals.
“How incredible it is to see how far Khamzat Chimaev has gotten by training himself. A big key factor is there is never any change in the way this man fights.
“There’s never any blend of the style. This is something that hurts Khamzat Chimaev.”
