Former Nigeria international John Utaka has expressed confidence that Gernot Rohr will succeed with the Super Eagles but must be given the necessary support.
Rohr’s achievement so far with the Eagles is a third place finish at last year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and qualification to the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The German coach recently accepted to extend his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation.
And Utaka, 38, believes Rohr’s good relationship with the Super Eagles players will lead to his success with the team.
“The boys know him more than the previous person, so give him that chance and support just like the little they did with Bonfere Jo at the Olympics,” the 2002 and 2010 World Cup star told brila.net.
“He might do better than what he has done but I think, he will do a good job.”
Utaka, alongside former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, helped Montpellier win the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 title, the first in the club’s history.
He was also an FA Cup winner with Portsmouth in 2008, providing the assist for Nwankwo Kanu who scored the only goal in the 1-0 win against Cardiff City.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
