Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, Wednesday underwent scan test following the knee injury he sustained during Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against Brazil in an international friendly Sunday in Singapore, Completesports.com reports.
Uzoho is facing a long layoff as a result of the knee injury.
In a statement on Wednesday, Omonia Nikosia said the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup winner with Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets has been diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament.
“Francis Uzoho has been diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and external meniscus he got in the international game between Nigeria and Brazil,” Omonia Nicosia said in a statement.
“Speedy recovery and return to action Francis. The OMONIA family is by your side!.”
Uzoho has been capped 16 times by the Super Eagles. He is currently a loanee at Omonia Nicosia from Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna.
The statement by Omonia did not however disclose how long Uzoho will stay out of action due to the injury.
