Villarreal manager Unai Emery says Samuel Chukwueze’s recovery from a muscular injury he sustained four months ago is “slow”, Completesports.com reports.
Chukwueze picked up the injury in Villarreal’s Europa League semi-final second leg clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in May.
The Nigeria international missed the final against Manchester United and underwent surgery few days later.

Although the winger has returned to training with the Yellow Subamarines, he is yet to attain full match fitness.
“He’s (Chukwueze) going a little bit slower than we wanted to and we still want to go cautiously with him,” Emery told a news conference ahead of Villarreal’s UEFA Champions League clash against Atalanta.
Villarreal will look to record their first win of the campaign against the Italian side.
