Defending champions Nigeria’s Super Falcons have arrived in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where they will begin the defence of their continental crown, reports Completesports.com.
The players made a stylish arrival, radiating confidence and excitement as they stepped off the team bus dressed in coordinated green-and-white tie-dye African outfits, complemented by matching traditional headwraps.
Justine Madugu’s side spent the last 10 days in Casablanca fine-tuning preparations for the tournament, with the camp culminating in a morale-boosting 2-1 friendly victory over Tanzania’s Twiga Stars on Thursday.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade ,and AFC Toronto striker Esther Okoronkwo were on target in the win.
The Super Falcons will play all their Group C fixtures in Rabat, starting with Tuesday’s clash against tournament debutants Malawi at the Al Madina Stadium.
The record 10-time African champions will then return to the same venue to take on Zambia’s Copper Queens before concluding their group-stage campaign against Egypt’s Cleopatras at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
Nigeria are chasing a record-extending 11th WAFCON title, and will be among the favourites to lift the trophy once again in Morocco.

I spent part of my weekend, as if anyone cares to know, watching several Non-Nigeria YouTubers on their channels rave and regale about the Super Falcons, our Super Falcons, being the undisputed, unassailable ,
unstoppable favourites to once again rule the roost in this year’s Wafcon.
And, this confidence from neutral observers appears to be reflected in how the Super Falcons are projecting themselves all over social media with an air of excitement, enjoyment, elation.
Is anyone here on Tiktok, Instagram and X? If so, you won’t have escaped the clip of Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nandozie doing her impression of Ovularia, the wife of Chief Zebrudaya from the 1980s sitcom “The New Masquerade”. Trust me, you will laugh your nose off and probably wind up in hospital with suspected fractured ribs induced by mad laughter – men it was funny.
Then you have multiple clips of the other players performing well choreographed dance sequences that would make Michael Jackson smile in his grave, wishing he had included these moves in his award-winning Thriller video.
Oh yes! the Super Falcons are Bad, the Super Falcons are Smooth Criminals, the Super Falcons are Dangerous!
It’s all smiles and jollification when you see them in their traditional green African regalia, emitting this air of cool detached confidence with no care in the world, like players coming home from Wafcon victory rather than those going to face formidable foes in a formidable tournament.
Even the selfie from their team bus that graced the banner of this CSN article is a thing of photographic artistry and visual perfection. It would have taken a professional photographer 10 months to get them to pose to peerless perfection like they did in that selfie. Yet, the outcome feels like a postcard picture that would easily fetch 10,000 Naira per post card.
We the fans are watching, their opponents are watching, neutral observers are watching.
The feel good factor pervading the camp is infectious, irresistible, inspiring.
Perhaps, looking more professional and business-like in a happy manner might sit better, who knows? Who am I to judge?
One can only hope that this overtly confidence demeanor inspires them to victory in the tournament because the tournament is no laughing matter!

@deo, I thought it was just me o. Overconfidence wan kill these babes. Just finished watching Ordega’s interview with BBC Pidgin where she categorically said no team can stop the SF, except maybe Ghana might give a little tough time.

The broke our hearts again last year. Our part compensation was the confidence the ladies never disappoint for the WC ticket. We cannot suffer heartbreak twice in one year.
I don’t really care about the WAFCON trophy (if it comes, nah jara). What I’m keen about is the WC ticket to Brazil next year and making history at the mundial. Struggling to beat Tanzania in that friendly wasn’t a good sign, even though I understand friendlies are majorly for experimentations.
