Former Nigeria international Ifeanyi Udeze believes the Flying Eagles can beat hosts Côte d’Ivoire in the semifinal of the WAFU B U-20 Championship.
The Flying Eagles finished second in Group B after losing 2-0 to Burkina Faso in their final fixture on Sunday.
The team had already clinched qualification ticket into the knockout round after wins against Ghana (4-2) and Togo (3-0).
Côte d’Ivoire topped Group A after victories against Niger Republic and Benin, scoring seven goals without conceding.

“They are equal to the task I believe in them,” Udeze said on BRILA FM.
“I’ve watched the current flying Eagles and they are not a bad team and we saw them beat Ghana 4-2 which alone impressed me. But one thing I have observed about the team is that they concede a lot which they must work on.”
The 2026 WAFU B Championship serves as qualifier for the 2027 U-20 African Cup of Nations in Ghana.
At the U-20 AFCON 2025 edition in Egypt, the Flying Eagles finished third.
