Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has urged Nigeria’s U-20 team, the Flying Eagles, to remain focused as they step up preparations for next month’s WAFU B U-20 Championship in Côte d’Ivoire, reports Completesports.com.
Chelle delivered the message during a visit to the team at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Friday morning.
The Malian’s visit came shortly after the Flying Eagles recorded an emphatic 5-0 victory over Bussdor United in a preparatory friendly match.
The encounter formed part of the Flying Eagles’ build-up to the regional tournament.

Chelle Tasks Flying Eagles Players
Addressing the players, Chelle stressed the importance of discipline and commitment in their quest for success.
“If you want to succeed and go far in achieving your dreams, you must remain focused,” Chelle said.
“Secondly, listen attentively to your coaches. If you do these things, the sky will only be your starting point, and your chances of succeeding will be very high.”
In his remark, Flying Eagles head coach, Abdu Maikaba thanked the Super Eagles gaffer for the visit
, and further added the team is focused on having a good outing at the forthcoming regional tournament.
The Flying Eagles are expected to continue their preparations in the coming weeks ahead of the competition in Côte d’Ivoire.

Also we need information on what is going on in Golden Eaglets camp on term of the names and numbers of players in Camp, how many friendly the team has played, the scores and general performances in each match. Since we have been using old men as U20, we have not won. Why not use young lads and better the future of the Super Eagles? Under age competitions are not fir winning at all costs but for development.
Since Okocha and Mikel left the stage,, our midfield had no identity and a stabilizer. Just use the U20 to identify good and quality midfielders in the number10 role.
We can’t win the U20 with the quality of coaching but we should be able to find a replacement for Okocha or Mikel. Competent attacking midfielders, not sideways backpasser and don’t touch me midfielder.
NFF will get under 17 right since MRI scan is unforgiving if players are caught on the global stage but they hardly progress to under 20 because the slots are up for grabs and no scan.
For me, any under 20 player that is actively in npfl is a fraud because that is obviously a big lie but would Gusau and NFF even learn? Old dogs wanna learn new tricks? How?

Yes, a NPFL attacking midfielder who plays week in week out is better and more hungry than anyone from Europe who hasn’t given more than five assists in 38 or 46 matches as in the case of EPL and Championship. Otherwise we can convert Ejuke in the worst case scenario.
