Warri Wolves Captain, David Joseph, has described as ‘precious’, the away point the Seasiders secured after Sunday’s EuroMatch/NPFL matchday 9 draw away to the People’s Elephant, Enyimba, Completesports.com reports.
It was Warri Wolves second point on the road since the start of the 2026/2027 EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following a similar draw away to Niger Tornadoes in a matchday five fixture inside the Bako Kotangora Stadium, Minna.
And a visibly delighted Joseph could not hold back his joy and excitement when asked during the post match press conference how important the valuable point secured against a team like two time African Champions, Enyimba, is to the Seasiders.
“Precious! Precious, precious,” Joseph yelled, repeatedly. “Considering the fact that our opponent are still below the 15th position on the league table.
“So, we know that with this point, we lift ourselves up in the table while leaving them below where they were before this game. So, this point, for us, is very precious.”
The People’s Elephant, who are nine – time champions of the domestic top flight, we’re dominant in the first half, with the visitors on the back foot, defending most of the time before the break.
After the break, the visitors came off the block, but we’re unable to find the breakthrough until the final whistle.

Asked if there was a moment during the game he thought Warri Wolves should have won and taken all three points, the Seasiders captain responded in the affirmative.
“Of course, yes. We tried to stay compact (more of defensive) and wait for them on the break (counter).
“If you observed very well, we had some counter – attacking opportunities we should have finished well but which, unfortunately, we couldn’t utilise towards the twilight of the game. But all the same, we thank God for the point.”
From a defensive minded team in the first half to a combative side in the second half, the defender said it was their game plan to play a cautious first half to frustrate and contain the home team.
“Yeah, it was our game plan, — keep it compact in the first half, frustrate them, you understand.
“Then in the second half we can go for it on the counter like I said earlier.”
