Watford Keeper Braced For Exit

Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann may be set for another loan departure as Derby are reportedly keen on signing him.

The Austrian has never played a first-team game for the Hornets since joining in the summer of 2017 following his release from Stoke, and has had loan spells with Wrexham, Ross County and Bury. However, last season was the 25-year-old’s breakthrough to regular football as he played 28 times on loan for Kilmarnock, helping them secure European football.

Now, with Ben Foster, Heurelho Gomes, and Pontus Dahlberg all ahead of him in the pecking order, a loan move seems certain to happen and Derby are the team watching his situation. The Rams are searching for a new keeper with youngsters Kelle Roos and Jonathan Mitchell already there and Scott Carson’s future looking uncertain.

Watford are reluctant to allow Bachmann to leave permanently and still see him as a player who could have a future.
