‘We Want To Be A Bit More Aggressive’- Gerrard Explains Reason For Starting Aribo In Kilmarnock’s Win

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has explained his decision to start Joe Aribo in Saturday’s 1-0 home win Kilmarnock, reports Completesports.com.

Ryan Jack’s superb first-half strike was the difference at Ibrox as Rangers continued their 100-per-cent record at home in the Scottish Premiership.

Aribo and his international teammate Leon Balogun featured for 90 minutes in the game.

“We have missed Ryan Jack, he plays with personality, he is a fighter and a warrior in there and he can play with quality – they complement each other really well,”Gerrard told Rangers TV.

“Glen Kamara obviously we never used today but he is another top one who can complement them. It is a fantastic midfield three but at home we want to be a bit more aggressive, a bit more bold and that’s the reason why we decided to go with Aribo.”

The 24-year-old has scored five goals in 22 league appearances for Rangers this season.

  • Im really admiring gerards man management skills. The way he is rotating his team and allowing certain players to play certain games while creating a winning formula is very impressive. I also like that he is giving our Nigerian brethren Leon and aribo enough opportunities to showcase their skills. Rangers look good to claim the title this season and it would be a wonderful achievement for coach Gerard and company.
