Liverpool dominated the ball and equalised in the 41st minute, as Trent Alexander-Arnold sent a stunning free-kick into the top corner from 20 yards.

The game opened up in the second half as Fornals put West Ham 2-1ahead on 67 minutes, slotting under Alisson after brilliant work from Jarrod Bowen to put him through on goal.

Let’s spare a word for Jesse Lingard.
Lingardinho was a bench warmer to begin with at Man United. Ridiculed by fans, unfancied by the coaches, constantly pranked by his team mates.
He then gets loaned out to West Ham, and Moyes brings out the best in Lingard! Practically resurrects his career. Lingard starts to shine again, to the point where he gets invited to the 3 Lions.
After a fantastic season with West Ham, Lingard couldn’t resist the urge to go back to Man United. Now he’s back on the bench, once again languishing, shunned and unfancied.
West Ham on the other hand, continue to prosper greatly under David Moyes. They beat Liverpool today in a fiercely contested game, and are now third on the league table.
Third on the league table! That makes West Ham title contenders! The big problem West Ham has, like many other teams in the premier league, is a lack of squad depth. If they had more quality on the bench, they could mount a stronger challenge for the title.
Lingard likely wishes now that he had stayed with Moyes at West Ham.
