Every year, we see some big surprises when it comes to the MLB table. There are some teams that perform way better than expected. There are other teams that do not live up to the expectations that have been placed on them. Nevertheless, there is one team that you can never count out, and this is the Baltimore Orioles.
We were recently delighted to interview Jose Bautista at Betway. He confirmed to us that he believes the Baltimore Orioles is the team that has surprised him the most this season for all of the right reasons.
He said the following:
“Well, to me, the biggest surprises may not be the strongest teams. The most surprising thing to me has been a team like the Baltimore Orioles, where you expect them to be really, really far behind within that division. And if the Yankees were not having such a magical season, where would they be? So that’s, in my opinion, been the biggest surprise on the positive side.”
So, what is it about this Baltimore Orioles side that means it can never be counted out? Let’s take a look at some of the different reasons:
A brand new bullpen
We also have to mention the brand new bullpen. It seems that teams today have an abundance of data. They can access more information about pitchers than they have ever been able to.
The last thing that any effective rebuilding team requires is an effective bullpen, and for the past few years, the Baltimore Orioles simply have not had that.
Luckily, these days are now a thing of the past. The Baltimore Orioles have a good bullpen now, which is pretty much a necessity when going from rebuilding the team to actually contending.

Last but not least, we cannot deny the fact that Elias has been blessed with some really great players. He will be the first to tell you that you need to start with the players that are already in your business.
When Elios joined the Astros, there were a number of great players that he inherited, including George Springer, Dallas Keuchel, and Jose Altuve. This always gives you a great head start when managing any sort of sports team.
Players who were once on the sidelines ended up being brought into the business by the past front-office regime. The new office regime today will help you to develop into All-Stars and win all of the awards you want to.
