Wilfred Ndidi the Popular Leicester City Midfielder Juggles Multiple Roles And Yet Stays Solidly Focused

The popular Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who is fondly referred to as ‘The Octopus’ by his teammates (because of his long legs!) is well known for juggling multiple roles. Apart from excelling in football, he is also studying for a business degree in UK. He says that he has learned immensely from Brendan Rodgers over the past 9 months, more than he has learned in his entire career.

Ndidi has emerged one of the prominent stars for Leicester City in the ongoing season of English Premier League, and leads the tables for maximum number of successful interceptions and tackles, at 36 and 59 respectively. Needless to say, he is a huge favourite amongst punters at all reputed online sports betting portals as well as offline bookies.

Consistently playing a key role in the overall performance of the Foxes, he has helped his side to reach the second place on the EPL leaderboard after 12 matches, having a one-point lead over the defending champions Manchester City.

Efficiently juggling his role as a successful footballer and a university student

Wilfred Ndidi is never in the switch off mode, regardless of whether he’s on the football pitch or away from it. After the end of his training sessions, he makes a two mile journey to De Montfort University, from the Leicester City’s Belvoir Drive base each day. The star footballer is pursuing a Degree in Business and Tourism from the University right now.

Many students have seen him strolling around the campus in the afternoons, and are kind of used to his presence now! He is extremely determined to complete his education and also ensure that many more from his home country do the same.

In a recent interview to Sportsmail, Ndidi emphasised that if he has spare time, he’d rather put it to good use in some school, rather than sit back and play FIFA with others. He informed that when he was 12 or 13 years old, he left his home to pursue a career in football and simultaneously kept up with his studies. He was always sure that he wanted to continue his education even in the later stages of his life.

Ndidi has opted for one-on-one sessions with a university lecturer and has recently cleared an exam that involved a presentation and a project. He scored an impressive 65% in the latter and 63% in the former. Talking further about what he aspires to do in the future, he said, “I want to understand the outside world of business and I have a plan to build a school, similar to Aspire in Qatar (a sports academy that also provides secondary education). I’ve been there with the Nigeria national team and you see that young players are also receiving an education.”

He informed that back in his home country there are many youngsters who are keen on making a career in football, but don’t pay much attention to their schooling. However, if one pursues both simultaneously, he will always have something to fall back on in case either one doesn’t work out. Ndidi is currently working on a plan to help such youngsters in his home country.

Do I say Rohr is lucky with quality players now available for selection or rather say Rohr is in trouble of losing the remaining hair struggling to cover his bald front. Maja is burning hot. A hatrick today. Dessers designing opponents goals, the Trojan horse Osimene becoming a menace to defences, Nacho king, precision exemplified. And who can forget the wazza dazzler Chuzee. Oh Blessed God,they just too many, Ariboy, Alexander the Great Iwobi…I honestly don’t envy Rohrs job.

    • If you think Rohr is having vertigo thinking of the choices he has to make, how about our opponents?

But then we are lacking in the goalkeeping department. Shall we declare a state of emergency?
