Championship side Wolves have canceled a first-team training session at their Compton Park training ground and deployed extra security after Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare refused to leave the pitch on Monday.

According to Mirror, the incident occurred when new manager César Peixoto instructed the 25-year-old Nigerian that he was not permitted to participate in the session.

Peixoto Implements Strict Disciplinary Measures

The extraordinary standoff followed a difficult period at the club, which saw Wolves relegated from the Premier League and Peixoto implement strict disciplinary measures.

Following this latest incident, Arokodare was excluded from the squad traveling to a pre-season friendly against Maidenhead United.

Transfer Uncertainty

His future at the club is now deeply uncertain, with clubs like Fiorentina, Genoa, and Trabzonspor reportedly showing interest in the forward

Arokodare joined Wolves from Belgian side Genk in a £23.4 million deal but managed only three league goals in 33 appearances as the club finished bottom of the Premier League and suffered relegation.

The disappointing campaign also resulted in the departure of Rob Edwards, with Peixoto taking charge ahead of the new season.

Reports suggest the Portuguese coach does not see the Nigerian striker as part of his plans, having already excluded him from Wolves’ pre-season training camp in Portugal.
