Taiwo Awoniyi was on target as Nottingham Forest continued the pre-season preparations for the 2026/27 Premier League campaign with a 3-0 win against Championship side Blackburn Rovers in Portugal on Wednesday.
After Igor Jesus swept Forest into the lead with half-time approaching, two quickfire second-half goals from first Arnaud Kalimuendo, then Awoniyi ensured the Reds would claim a second successive win following Saturday’s 2-0 win against Notts County away from home.
Oliver Glasner’s side still have two fixtures to come as part of the pre-season training camp in the Algarve, with a behind-closed-doors game against Vitória S.C. before the Reds take on Portuguese giants Sporting CP on Friday 31 July.
