Wolves ‘In Talks’ For Wallace

Wolves are reportedly still talking to Lazio about a possible move for defender Wallace before the transfer window slams shut. Wallace, 24, has been with the Serie A outfit since 2016 but was linked with a switch to Molineux last summer.

Nothing materialised on that occasion but Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi are suggesting that there is ongoing dialogue about a move to the West Midlands. The former Brazil Under-23 ace is represented by Jorge Mendes, whose links to Wolves mean that there is a strong possibility that the deal may happen this summer.

A fee of around £6.5million has been agreed, with the player said to be keen on playing for the Black Country outfit. Wolves reportedly want a loan deal with an option to buy but the Italians favour selling the centre back outright, a stumbling block that needs to be overcome for the move to happen.

Boss Nuno Espirito Santo is eager to have his final squad assembled as soon as possible, with their Europa League campaign already under way following a 2-0 victory over Northern Irish side Crusaders.
