Johnston, who played every minute of Canada’s historic run to the Round of 16, took to Instagram to share his travel nightmare.
He expressed his frustration by stating, “Learned my lesson today. Never fly @FlyFrontier even if it’s the only direct flight available.
“Genuinely look for multi-stop redeye flights before flying with them. I’m still not sure where my bags are and I’m in the wrong city somehow.”
The official account of the Canadian men’s national team replied to the Celtic star, asking “Where did they send you?” while adding a crying emoji.
It remains unclear where Johnston and his luggage ended up during his post-World Cup adventure as the right back hasn’t shared any further travel details on social media.
While Johnston clearly wasn’t too happy with his travel experience, he was thrilled with the support he and Team Canada received through the summer soccer tournament.
