The Norwegian team doctor has officially dismissed concerns regarding a recent sickness bug that swept through the squad ahead of their FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final against England.
He confirmed to Nettavisen that all the players are healthy now as the team prepares for the highly anticipated clash in Miami.

Earlier this week, manager Ståle Solbakken had reported a few isolated cases of fever and coughing before the England showdown, which impacted players like Jørgen Strand Larsen and Marcus Holmgren Pedersen.
However, medical staff have played down the severity of the bug, stating they have the situation under complete control.
“Very little fuss considering that we have been close together for almost six weeks,” he added before he was asked about the English reaction to reports.

Norway still have three days to get fully fit for their crucial game against Thomas Tuchel‘s men.

The team have become one of the tournament’s dark horses after beating Iraq, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Brazil so far, with their only blemish a 4-1 defeat to France.
England, meanwhile, will be looking to continue their own World Cup charge, having just defeated Mexico in a 3-2 win on Monday.
