DR Congo head coach Sebastian Desabre insists his team will not be easy opponents for England, even as he acknowledges the tough challenge that lies ahead.
The Round of 16 encounter is slated for the Atlanta Stadium on Tuesday.
DR Congo Ready For Battle
Desabre acknowledged the gulf in quality between the two teams but insisted his side will fight hard to secure victory.
“England are fourth in the world rankings, we are 41,” Desabre said ahead of the game.
“It’s a difficult match ahead, but not an insurmountable one. We’ve proven against teams that were supposedly superior to us that we can perform well.
“We will focus on our strengths. We continue on our path which, in any case at this level of competition, is difficult for everyone.”
Desabre Confident Of Upset
Desabre drew inspiration from the previous Round of 32 encounters, insisting they showed every team has a chance.
“It’s not easy, we certainly respect this England team which is made up of some very talented players. But we also have our strengths to bring to bear,” added Desabre.
“As always, my team will be selfless and will proudly defend the colors of Congo with our abilities, our strengths, and our motivation.”

To me congo Dr is the best African side in this world cup. They are too good. No wonder they could stop Nigeria. With the way they are playing they are 50percent winning the game. They made England look ordinary. If they can pass England, they will beat Mexico…tho host.
If Nigeria doesn’t tops their game, it will be really tough for them
This is true.
