Xavi Restates Firm Ambition To Become Barcelona Coach

Former Spain international Xavi has restated his ambition to coach his former club FC Barcelona where he enjoyed most of his playing career before joining Al-Sadd of Qatar in 2015.

Xavi who finally retired from playing professional football in 2019 Al-Sadd, has been the manager of the Qatar Premier League side since may of same year.

He was on the radar of Barcelona chiefs before Quique Setien was eventually hired as replacement for the sacked Ernesto Valverde earlier this year.

Xavi, 40, is confident of becoming a successful coach and nurses a strong ambition of leading his former club as manager, and it will be a home-coming at Camp Nou when that dream materializes .

“I don’t know why people see me like this, but l am proud and I like it” Xavi who won eight Laliga and four Champions League titles as Barvelona player told DjMaRiio on YouTube.

“Now that I have tried as a coach, I see myself as capable and it is an illusion, a dream to return to Barcelona.

“I have already said it on many occasions, I consider Barca my home, it is my life.

“I am in an apprenticeship. I am learning a lot as a coach here in Qatar. Obviously, training for Barca are big words, you have to see it clearly, be very prepared.

“It is all a process and I hope that someday I can arrive.”
