Villarreal have agreed to take Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa on loan for the 2019-20 season. The Cameroon international joined Fulham from Marseille in a £22.3million deal last summer but he failed to make a positive impact at Craven Cottage.

Anguissa signed a five-year deal with the west London club but struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League and made just 25 appearances across all competitions. Following Fulham’s relegation, Anguissa has agreed to head out on loan rather than attempt to help the club fight for an immediate return to the top flight.
Villarreal have decided to gamble on the midfielder, having agreed to a season-long loan, and they have the option to make the move permanent next summer. The Spanish club said in a statement: “Villarreal CF and Fulham FC have reached an agreement for the loan of Cameroonian midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, who will play for the Submarine for the 2019/20 season. The agreement includes a purchase option once the season is over,” Villarreal said in a statement.
