2022 World Cup:‘Ronaldo Not A Threat To Black Stars’ —Ex-Ghana International Preko

2022 World Cup:‘Ronaldo Not A Threat To Black Stars’ —Ex-Ghana International Preko

Former Ghana international Yaw Preko says he does not see Cristiano Ronald as a threat to the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The West African giants are drawn in Group H and will kick off their World Cup campaign against the former European champions before taking Uruguay and South Korea.

In their last meeting in the group stage of the 2014 World Cup, Ronaldo scored the winner as Portugal beat Ghana 2-1.

But Preko believes the former Real Madrid star will not be a threat this time.

“We shouldn’t underrate Portugal. I don’t see Ronaldo as a threat but the players around him,” Preko told Graphic Sports.

“Since he came to Manchester United, you can see that physically and psychologically, he is not the same but the players around him are dangerous.”

The Black Stars edged rivals Super Eagles of Nigeria in the qualifying playoffs to seal a fourth World Cup appearance.

    CSN, next news please.

  • What does this rubbish has to do with football development in Nigeria ?

  • Lenukwe 2 years ago

We have a small favour to do. Millions are turning to the CSN for open, independent, quality news every day, and readers in about 180 countries around the world now have a look in. Being a global news, the ex-Ghana international, Preko get mouth as we say in local parlance. The reason being Ronaldo is not his young self any more and I wouldn’t be surprised if he will used as a 2nd half substitute 8n the match against our West Africa representative, Ghana. As a matter of fact, I have no authority to this conclusion.

Portugal has some of the best attacking talent in world football. Apart from CR7, they’ve got names like Diogo Jota, Joao Felix, Rafael Leao, Andre Silva, Bernardo Silva, Goncalo Guedes, among others. They also have a good midfield (Bruno Fernandes, Renato Sanches, Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Danilo Pereira, William Carvalho, and so on. They have good defenders in Joao Cancelo, Pepe, Ruben Dias, Nelson Semedo, Jose Fonte, Diogo Dalot, etc. And of course, unlike Nigeria, they have 2 world class goalies in Rui Patricio and Jose Sa. Portugal have a very strong team, and will be looking to go very far in this world cup. Almost all their players play in big clubs. It’s a golden generation indeed.
Portugal is not the only problem Ghana is facing. There is also Uruguay, their 2010 nemesis.
Luis Suarez and company will relish the opportunity to put Ghana to the sword once again.
And then there is South Korea, a well drilled, stubborn side, with Tottenham’s Heung-min Son and Wolves Hwang Hee-chan in their attack.

If we to listen to your mouth or take your analysis it would be Nigeria at the World Cup, you guys gave Ghana no chance at all but the story is different now so keep on looking down upon Ghana with your big mouth and your analysis but always remember Ghana is a force to reckon with and whatever you say doesn’t matter. • pompei 2 years ago

            You impudent mugu,
Osimhen had the ball in your net. If not that VAR came to your rescue! And the outdated away-goals-rule that Europe has discarded. These are the 2 things that saved your kenkey-eating behinds.
Oya now, come and be going to the world cup you qualified for with “wind-aided” qualification. Go there and face the problems that are waiting for you there. Say hi to CR7, Diogo Jota, and Son for me!
Don’t forget to send my greetings to Ghana’s BFF LUIS SUAREZ when you see him! Loooooool!

      • Manson 2 years ago

Your failed country supply Ghana electricity! Ahahahahahaha! Where the hell do you come from, Mars? No wonder you have a very myopic reasoning about everything I’m done talking to a mugu like you! Ah! Wasted time!

This is not Nigeria, Ghana will not make it out

  • pompei 2 years ago

Honestly, I have read and re-read my comment about Ghana’s world cup opponents (hereinafter referred to as “problems”).
What have I said that is annoying or offensive? I have only pointed out facts.
Only a confirmed certified mugu will read the post and get offended for no reason!
Fear of what awaits you has made you irrational and incoherent.
    Park well oga. Mugu!
Are your 3 your world cup opponents not problems? The problems dey ground gidigba, no shaking, waiting patiently for you. You have to go to Qatar and attempt to solve them.
CR7, Diogo Jota, Heung-min-Son, Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani, just to name a few. Hehehehe!
You are so ordered, and you must go, whether you like it or not!
Whether you like it or not, your problems are warming up and getting ready for you. Go and face them!

    • Manson 2 years ago

Go away! Nobody gives a rat ass about your honesty and bla bla bla. You honestly mentioned names before the playoffs in fact you honestly predicted you will beat Ghana home and away what happened then eh!, oga mugu? Now your incompetent country is looking to hire somebody who coached Saudi Arabia and Venezuela ahahahahaha! Joke of the century! Why don’t you go and “honestly “ mention names for them! Mumu!

      • pompei 2 years ago

Get lost, mugu! You qualify for world cup, but you no wan go again out of fear!
        Hahaha!
You dishonest mugu that won’t acknowledge facts.
Ghana is by far the worst of the 5 teams representing Africa at the world cup. Even Comoros would have done better for Africa. Ivory Coast, Algeria, Egypt, Mali are far better than Ghana. Go ahead and deny it! MUGU!
Even Nigeria that you used outdated away-goals-rule to get past, Nigeria had the ball in your net, only for VAR to rescue your banku-eating bumbums. If that goal had counted, you guys would have needed to come out of your bus-parking shell, and Nigeria would have had a field day hitting you on the counter!
Have you all sent a thank you card to the VAR officials yet?
        Mugu! Get away from here!

        • Manson 2 years ago

Ah oga mugu is the away go rule only for Ghana, why didn’t you score in Kumasi to take advantage, it was VAR that gave you the penalty to equalize you couldn’t score in open play except Osimhen wanted to cheat and the VAR caught him lol! You should rather thank VAR from saving you from humiliating defeat in your own backyard. It even became a song by you teaming supporters VAR VAR VAR VAR VAR! Ahahaha!

          • pompei 2 years ago

Don’t forget to take some selfies with your best buddy LUIS SUAREZ when you reach Qatar. HAHAHAHA!
            MUGU!

          • Manson 2 years ago

Now there’s VAR no more cheating fair play soteee, let’s see who laughs last. Watch me out on TV my brother!

          • pompei 2 years ago

Ok mugu, November is almost here!
Keep your BP and anxiety meds handy. It’s gonna be a loooooong world cup!

          • Manson 2 years ago

One thing you must know is that Ghana is not Nigeria, November is 7months away trust me Ghana will be ready by then. We went to 2010 World Cup with relatively young and unknown players but you all saw what happened . You will be disappointed but it’s all because your stubborn or maybe naive to realize that Ghana has a formidable team, from the FA to the technical team and the playing body, just keep your fingers crossed!

          • pompei 2 years ago

Umu MUGU, continue to wind your mouth!
            That’s all you’re good for.
November will soon be here! Whether you like it or not, you must go to Qatar to carry your problem on your coconut head!
            Hahaha!

  • pompei 2 years ago

Even for dis pic, CR7’s is asking for Ghana.
He is saying: GIVE ME GHANA, GIVE ME GHANA, I NEED GHANA!
Go to Qatar and carry your wahala.
    Mugu! Hahahaha!
