2023 U-20 AFCON: Buhari Charges Flying Eagles To Win Trophy

Nigeria will face The Gambia on Monday in the semifinals of the competition with a ticket to the FIFA U20 World Cup finals already in the kitty.

Delivering President Buhari’s message to the team, the Sports Minister Sunday Dare who arrived in Cairo on Sunday alongside former Super Eagles captain and aide to Mr President Daniel Amokachi, encouraged the Flying Eagles to aim for the ultimate prize.

“Mr President and indeed the whole of Nigeria is proud of what you have already achieved. That is the major reason I have been directed by Mr President to come here to see you. The target is to win a World Cup ticket and you have done that.

“Now, go for the ultimate prize. You can repeat what you did at the WAFU B competition. You can smell the trophy now, so take it step by step and become African champions again,” Dare said.

With this comment so far, the team can’t go beyond this…

  • Mr. Bad luck Buhari. Can you just shut your mouth and kindly step down as a president. with all the wasted 8 years that you spent in the aso rock in Abuja, what did you accomplished??. Every facet of life in Nigeria during your tenure is a total failure. You’re part of the reasons why Nigeria didn’t qualify for 2022 world cup that was held in Qatar. And now Mr. Tinubu has rigged the election in order to remain in power. And this will result into another 4 to 8 wasteful years. Honestly, I’m sick and tired of Nigeria. This nation is very sick. Revolution must take place in Nigeria before we can have prosperity in this country….

“Tee” is an evil “Obituarist” and IPOB miscreant who is crying and wailing because of dashed hope of his Ipob leader losing an election to Tinubu.
You should stop your bigotry and stop bringing your delusion into CS. This is a sport site, not your dirty politics.

Go on Flying Eagles, the trophy is for the taking!

Don’t mind all this nuisance coming here to make himself look stupid. Does this look like a political platform. Amusan broke the world record during buhari’s tenure. The under 17 and under 20 won there respective tournament. The under 17 won the world cup in 2015. Nigeria attended the 2018 world cup in Russia. So please stop whinning. And let the old man rest.

Next time contest for the presidency if its that easy. Your fellow citizens are happy the way the country is being ruled. So why are you lamenting. You would rather enjoy the recycling of old men to rule the country. So SOB go find something doing. Tell your fellow citizens to vote for the right person next time

If we say sports in Nigeria is politics why then should we not be concerned of who is heading our politics. @Tee ignore those ignorant devices!!!

look at another idiot coming here to display his ignorance. So whats the correlation between who heads the county and sports. This is why FIFA decided not to have any government interference in there FA. Is it the president that will select teams that will represent the country at various sports event. And you here acting foolish

Your Father has failed in raising you up properly, learn to shut up and only speak when you have enough reason to. I’m sure your childish brain doesn’t understand why people say sports is political in Africa, does that mean that theres physical interference by the politicians??? Do you know what they call indirect manipulations???When they say Godfather in football what does it mean to your small head? Friday or Saturday be patient before you jump the boat.
