Russia’s Daniil Medvedev have qualified for the final of the 2023 US Open after defeating Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in the men’s second semi-final in the early hours of Saturday.
Medvedev saw off Alcaraz three sets to one, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
The 27-year-old will be targeting a second Grand Slam title after winning the 2021 US Open defeating Novak Djokovic in the final.
He will also take on Djokovic in this year’s final which will hold on Sunday.
The Serbian cruised into the final on Friday after outclassing home boy Ben Shelton in three sets, 6-3, 6-2, 7-6.
Meanwhile, the women’s final will hold today (Saturday) between America’s Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus.
Sabalenka will go into the final with a Grand Slam title to her name after winning the 2023 Australia Open.
On her part, Gauff will be seeking a first-ever Grand Slam title.
