Nigeria’s Super Falcons thrashed Cape Verde 5-0 in Thursday’s 2024 WAFCON second round, first leg qualifier at the MKO Abiola stadium, Abuja.
A brace from Uchenna Kanu and Esther Okoronkwo and Gift Monday’s solitary strike secured the comfortable win.
Kanu opened the scoring on seven minutes before Monday made it 2-0 on 25 minutes.

On the stroke of halftime Kanu got her brace to put the Falcons 3-0 ahead.
Substitute Okoronkwo then got the fourth goal in the 66th minute and added the fifth in the 77th minute.
The second leg will come up on Tuesday, 5 December, 2023.
The winner over two legs will qualify for the 2024 WAFCON in Morocco.
