UCL: AC Milan Lack Motivation –Balotelli

Adana Demirspor striker Mario Balotelli has insisted that AC Milan lack the motivation to progress to the next round of the Champions League.

Recall that AC Milan lost 2-1 to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, to put their qualification ticket in real danger.

However, in a chat with TVPlay, Balotelli stated that AC Milan are difficult team to classify and lack their traditional gold dust.

He told TVPlay: “Based on how I’ve seen Milan play in the last few games, they’re a difficult team to classify. Maybe it makes a big show with PSG and then makes some sensational missteps.

“The problem perhaps is the motivations. Phenomena, apart from two or three, there are none. The player may have more or less motivations, but it’s up to you to find them.

“An example is the Italian Cup: in the first matches you play against inferior teams and usually those who never play take the field, then if the starter is there it’s not that he’s listless but he doesn’t have the motivation he can have in the Champions League.

“Then if you reach the quarter-finals or semi-finals then the situation changes. However, Milan winning the Europa League causes less sensation than other teams.”
