Falconets head coach Moses Aduku believes several of his players have what it takes to progress to the senior national team, the Super Falcons, following their impressive campaign at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Aduku’s side made a strong statement at the tournament after recovering from a slow start to secure a place in the quarter-finals.
Captain Christianah Uzoma was instrumental in the Falconets’ Round of 16 victory over England, saving Rachel Maltby’s penalty in the 33rd minute to help Nigeria advance.
The Falconets have also impressed in front of goal, with Winner Onajite David and Ramotalahi Kareem scoring three goals each in Poland.

Janet Akekoromowei, Tosin Rafiu,and Rebecca Adegbemile have also contributed two goals apiece.
Aduku Backs Smooth Transition to Super Falcons
Aduku believes the U-20 Women’s World Cup provides an important platform for his players to develop and eventually make the step up to the senior national team.
“I think the girls are doing well. We need to do more,” Aduku told FIFA.
“There is going to be a transition to the senior national team from this junior side. So they really need to apply themselves. This is just the platform.”
With several players already making their mark at the tournament, Aduku will hope the experience gained in Poland can serve as a foundation for their future careers with the Super Falcons.

As blacks our main problem about small success is that we tend to allow it to enter our heads and then we goof when it matters. Good victory but nothing spectacular about technical aspect of the team play. I wish the team well but Oshoala’s set were better organised and more technical in all aspect.
